Ngl, when I first saw Vegeteamble, I wasn't really sure what to expect. A game about fruits and vegetables fighting each other sounds pretty random lol :)) But the concept was unusual enough to make me curious, so I decided to give it a try instead of judging it by the screenshots alone.

After spending some time with it, I think the game has a few interesting things going for it, although it's not without its weaknesses.

One thing I genuinely like is the overall concept. A lot of strategy games go for fantasy heroes, monsters, or sci-fi settings, so seeing a bunch of fruit and vegetable characters is a pretty refreshing change. It's a silly idea, sure, but I think that's part of its charm. It gives the game a personality instead of making it feel like another generic fantasy game.

The team-building side is probably what kept me interested the most. I like being able to try different characters and equipment rather than sticking with the first setup that seems to work. For me, experimenting is often more enjoyable than simply rushing through battles. There's a nice feeling when you find a combination that works better than you expected :>>

That said, I wouldn't say the strategy is incredibly deep. At least from my experience, I'd like to see more situations where changing your team or adapting your approach makes a noticeable difference. More distinctive character abilities and equipment effects could help with that. Right now, I see room for the system to become more interesting as the game develops.

The combat is fairly easy to get into, which I appreciate. I don't always want to spend hours learning complicated mechanics before I can enjoy a game. However, I also think accessibility shouldn't come at the cost of variety. More unique boss mechanics, different enemy behaviors, and more satisfying attack effects would make battles feel less repetitive over time.

Visually, I think the style fits the game's lighthearted theme. It doesn't need realistic graphics to work, and I'd rather see the developers focus on making the characters and combat feel more distinctive than simply trying to make everything look more detailed. Small improvements to animations and combat feedback could go a long way, imo.

I'm also glad there's a co-op mode. Playing with friends can make experimenting with different strategies more entertaining, although I think its long-term appeal depends on how much variety the game offers and how well the multiplayer experience works in practice.

If there's one thing I'd like the developers to prioritize, it would be adding more meaningful variety rather than just increasing the amount of content. New characters are nice, but characters that actually change how you approach a battle would be much more interesting. The same goes for bosses and equipment. I'd rather discover a few genuinely interesting mechanics than get a bunch of additions that don't really change the experience.

So, would I recommend Vegeteamble? I'd say it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a huge strategy game with tons of complexity and endless content, this might not be what you're after. But if you enjoy quirky indie concepts, experimenting with team compositions, and watching a small game develop over time, I think there's something here worth checking out.

Overall, my impression is positive, but not because I think the game is flawless. I like the concept, I enjoy messing around with different setups, and I can see potential in the core gameplay. At the same time, combat variety and deeper strategic choices are areas I'd really like to see improved.

It's an interesting starting point, and I'm curious to see where it goes from here. Hopefully the future updates can build on the good parts instead of just adding more stuff for the sake of it :))
