Đọc kỹ đề và xác định yêu cầu​

Trước khi bắt đầu viết, hãy dành 2-3 phút để đọc và phân tích đề bài:

• Xác định loại biểu đồ: Đây là biểu đồ đường, biểu đồ cột, hay bản đồ?
• Chú ý đến đơn vị: Biểu đồ sử dụng đơn vị gì? (%, triệu người, độ C…)
• Mốc thời gian: Biểu đồ thể hiện dữ liệu trong quá khứ, hiện tại hay tương lai?
• Yêu cầu chính: Đề bài yêu cầu tóm tắt và so sánh những điểm nổi bật nào?

Cách làm dàn ý hiệu quả​

Dàn ý Introduction:​

Paraphrase lại câu hỏi trong đề bài, đảm bảo diễn đạt lại mà không thay đổi ý chính.

Dàn ý Overview:​

Tìm ra 2-3 điểm nổi bật nhất của biểu đồ hoặc dữ liệu, ví dụ: xu hướng tăng giảm chung, đối tượng cao nhất/thấp nhất.

Dàn ý Body Paragraphs:​

• Body 1: Chọn một số liệu hoặc xu hướng quan trọng để phân tích. Trình bày chi tiết và giải thích.
• Body 2: Chọn một số liệu hoặc xu hướng khác để so sánh hoặc bổ sung. Cung cấp sự so sánh rõ ràng và đầy đủ.

Việc làm dàn ý giúp bạn tiết kiệm thời gian, tránh viết lan man và đảm bảo không bỏ sót thông tin quan trọng.

Cách Làm Bài IELTS Writing Task 1: Từng Bước Đạt Band Cao​

Việc viết IELTS Writing Task 1 sẽ trở nên dễ dàng hơn nếu bạn tuân theo một quy trình từng bước.

Viết Introduction:​

Phần Introduction nên ngắn gọn, chỉ từ 1-2 câu. Nhiệm vụ chính là paraphrase lại đề bài. Ví dụ: Thay vì “The table shows…“, bạn có thể viết “The table illustrates…” hoặc “The provided table details…“. Hãy linh hoạt sử dụng các từ đồng nghĩa để tránh lặp từ.

Viết Overview:​

Đây là phần quan trọng nhất, thể hiện khả năng tóm tắt của bạn. Overview nên đứng ngay sau Introduction.

Mục tiêu: Nêu bật 2-3 điểm nổi bật nhất của biểu đồ mà không đi vào chi tiết số liệu.

Cấu trúc: Bắt đầu bằng các cụm từ như “Overall“, “In general“, “It is clear that…“. Ví dụ: Với biểu đồ đường, bạn có thể tóm tắt xu hướng tăng giảm chung. Với biểu đồ cột, bạn có thể chỉ ra đối tượng có giá trị cao nhất hoặc thấp nhất.

Viết Body Paragraphs:​

Bạn nên chia bài viết thành 2-3 đoạn Body.

Phân bổ thông tin: Mỗi đoạn Body chỉ nên tập trung vào một nhóm thông tin hoặc một xu hướng chính.

So sánh và đối chiếu: Sử dụng các từ nối như “In contrast“, “Meanwhile“, “Compared to” để so sánh số liệu giữa các đối tượng hoặc mốc thời gian.

Sử dụng số liệu: Đừng chỉ nêu số liệu đơn thuần, hãy lồng ghép chúng vào các câu có ý nghĩa để làm rõ luận điểm của bạn.

Phân tích đề:​

Bảng này so sánh dân số của New York City nói chung và các quận riêng lẻ (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island) từ năm 1800 đến năm 2000. Đây là một đề về số liệu, yêu cầu bạn so sánh sự thay đổi theo thời gian.

The provided tables illustrate changes in the population of New York City and its five districts (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island) from 1800 to 2000.

Overall, it is clear that the total population of New York City grew significantly over the period. While Manhattan’s population initially dominated, its share of the total population saw a substantial decline by the end of the century, with a corresponding increase in the share of the other four districts.

In 1800, the total population of New York City was 79,216. Manhattan accounted for the vast majority of this population with 60,515 residents, which represented 76% of the total. In contrast, the other four districts had a combined population of just 18,701, making up only 24%.

Over the following two centuries, the city’s total population surged to just over 8 million by 2000. During this period, the population of the other four districts experienced a dramatic increase, rising to 6,471,089. This represented a substantial rise in their proportion of the total population, from 24% to 81%. However, despite a significant population increase in Manhattan itself, its share of the city’s total population fell sharply to just 19% by the end of the period.

Phân tích đề:​

Đề bài cung cấp hai bản đồ về trang trại Beechwood, một vào năm 1950 và một vào hiện tại. Nhiệm vụ của bạn là tóm tắt và so sánh những thay đổi chính.

Bài mẫu:​

The two maps show the site of Beechwood Farm in 1950 and its current layout.

Overall, the farm has been completely redeveloped from a rural area into a more modern site with a focus on tourism and leisure. The most significant changes include the addition of new facilities and a reduction in agricultural land.

In 1950, the farm was primarily agricultural. There was a farmhouse and a barn located in the centre, with fruit trees and soft fruits to the north. A river ran along the southern boundary, and a road separated the farm from a large area for sheep. The main track connected the farmhouse to the road.

By today, the landscape has been transformed. The area for sheep has been replaced with a large car park. The track has become a road, and a new farm shop and parking area have been built in the northern section, where the fruit trees once stood. Additionally, a new road has been added to the east, leading to two parking areas and some holiday cottages. The original barn and farmhouse remain, but the area for chickens has been converted into a camping field.
