Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should be required to help with household tasks as soon as they are able to do so. Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay.
Nowadays, it is a common belief that many parents just want children/ to enjoy their playtime while they are still young instead of asking them to help to do housework. However, from my perspective, I completely do not subscribe to this idea due to the following reasons mentioned in the essay.
To begin with, one of the most important reasons as far as I observe is that doing chores can be a contributing factor in giving children a massive set of life skills that will benefit them in the future. For instance, youngsters may have to live somewhere far from their parents because of studying or working, so knowing how to do basic things such as ironing clothes or cooking is extremely essential for them to manage their lives better. In addition, motor skills, which involve movement and actions of the muscles, will be developed contemporaneously. Therefore, having a flair for household tasks definitely helps them enjoy great success in living as independently as they could.
Besides, it is arduous for many parents to reach the balance between their work and family life. Consequently, children, being family members should help them with household tasks so as to make the family’s connection much closer. However, it cannot happen if the offspring do not have any awareness of how hard attending home is.
In contrast, youngsters who swam with their studies at school cannot have enough time to relax if they must do a lot of housework. Therefore, it will cause serious effects on their health. In addition, children do not have to do chores early instead of using that time to play because housekeeping skills can also be learned when they grow older.
In conclusion, although it may be reasonable that children do not need to do chores early, it would be more beneficial if parents should order their children to help with household tasks as soon as they are able to do.
