Jack Quaid is rumored to be taking on the role of Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch, in the Fantastic Four reboot.
As the cast of the next Fantastic Four movie comes together, a variety of new casting reports have been emerging in recent days, and among them is the latest rumor that Jack Quaid might play Johnny Storm.
The reported casting stems from The Hot Mic podcast with movie scoopers Jeff Sneider and John Rocha. It was claimed that Quaid, one of the stars of the hit Prime Video series The Boys, is expected to soon be announced for the role of Johnny Storm. It was also reported during the same podcast that Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One) had signed on to play Sue Storm, Johnny's sister. That follows recent rumors that Sue would be serving as the protagonist for the Fantastic Four movie with the other three characters serving more as supporting players.
Before Quaid's name entered the fray, Paul Mescal, who will lead the cast of the upcoming sequel Gladiator 2, had been rumored for the Human Torch role. There were also reports that Elvis actor Austin Butler had been campaigning for the role. As for The Thing, names including Mila Kunis and Daveed Diggs had been rumored for that role in recent months, while it was also recently reported that Morbius actor Matt Smith was offered the role of Reed Richards. With all of this noted, it should also be pointed out that no casting announcements have been officially made by Marvel Studios at this time.
