The pie chart aims to illustrate the rates of water had been used for various sectors in six regions of the world.
Overall, the water resource in developed countries is focused on the industry. While the undeveloped countries are concentrated the water in agriculture.
In North America and Europe, the major use of water is in industry. The rates are approximately half of the whole percentages in the other areas, 48%, and 53% respectively. Both record a higher proportion of water utilized in agriculture with the percentage that is 39% and 32% in order.
In the other regions, most of the water used is concentrated in irrigation. The highest data recorded is in Central Asia, at 88%. Especially, the percentages of water used for domestic usually higher than in industry. The gap ranges from 2% in Africa and Central Asia to 9% in South America. Nonetheless, the opposites pattern shows in South East Asia, at 12% for industry and only 7% used for domestic.
