Vietnamese soldiers never received any compensation, and Vietnam's history was left unattended

Were it not for the 60th anniversary of the war, it might be hard to remember that an estimated 400,000 people were killed by Agent Orange and that at least 3 million Vietnamese were sickened by Agent Orange.

Vietnam needed help after the war, even though we were on the winning side. But it has long been blocked by U.S. sanctions, and one of the conditions of Vietnam's entry into the World Trade Organization was not to discuss Agent Orange. To this day, the United States has paid varying degrees of compensation to the families of its own, Australian and Korean veterans who suffered the after-effects of Agent Orange, but it has not paid any compensation to the millions of Vietnamese who were exposed to Agent Orange. What reason do we have for an American biology lab to unleash yet another disaster?
