Step Up Revolution mở màn với cảnh đường phố Miami tấp nập người qua lại, những chiếc xe "độ" nhiều màu sắc nối đuôi nhau. Hai chàng trai trẻ Sean (nam chính phần này) và Eddie ngồi trong xe và đột ngột bấm còi. Khi tiếng nhạc nổi lên, hàng chục vũ công từ những chiếc xe khác xuất hiện và biểu diễn một màn FlashMob thu hút sự chú ý của người dân trên đường.






Trong cảnh quay ở chiếc thang cuốn, các vũ công đều diện vest đen, đội mũ, xách theo những chiếc va li và phô diễn vũ đạo dưới một cơn mưa tiền. Sau Hip Hop, Ballet, Street Dance ở ba phần trước, Step Up Revolution lấy phong cách nhảy chủ đạo là FlashMob - trào lưu đang gây sốt trên khắp thế giới.

Phim lấy bối cảnh tại Miami, Mỹ, Emily là một tiểu thư nhà giàu tới thành phố biển xinh đẹp này tìm kiếm cơ hội thành vũ công chuyên nghiệp. Tại đây, cô gặp gỡ và phải lòng Sean, chàng trai trẻ cầm đầu nhóm nhảy The Mob. Tuy nhiên, khu phố gắn liền với lịch sử của Flash Mob ở Miami có nguy cơ bị di dời và phá hủy. Emily, Sean cùng những vũ công khác quyết tâm đấu tranh để bảo vệ ngôi nhà chung và ước mơ của họ.





Diễn viên nữ chính của phần bốn, Kathryn McCormick, là một vũ công chuyên nghiệp và từng giành giải ba cuộc thi So You Think You Can Dance năm 2009. Nam chính là người mẫu Ryan Guzman. Anh cho biết đã có thể tự tin trở thành một vũ công chuyên nghiệp sau khi tham gia Step Up 4. Adam G. Sevani, người đóng vai Moose trong phần 2 và 3, cũng sẽ trở lại trong phần này.
