Khi muốn diễn đạt sự so sánh giống nhau ,ta có thể dùng:
*Like (trường hợp này nó là 1 giới từ):-luôn phải theo sau là 1 noun(a princess,a palace) hoặc 1 pronoun (me,this) hoặc -ing(walking).Bạn cũng có thể dùng mẫu câu:like sth/sb -ing.
-nghĩa là "giống như".
Eg: His eyes is like his father.
What 's that noise? It sounds like a baby crying.
It's like walking on ice.
She looks beautyful-like a princess.
like cũng được sử dụng khi đưa ra ví dụ như "such as","like/such as +N ".
Eg: Junk food such as/like fizzy drinks and hamburgers have invaded the whole word.
*As+N:để nói cái gì là thật hoặc đã là như vậy (nhất là khi nói về nghề nghiệp của ai đó hoặc ta dùng cái đó như thế nào)
A few years ago I worked as a bus driver. (...tôi làm nghề lái xe khách)(Tôi thực sự đã là người lái xe khách).
During the war this hotel was used as a hospital.(...được dùng làm bệnh viện)
The news of her dead came as a great shock.(...như 1 cú sốc)(Nó thực sự là 1 cú sốc).
As your lawyer, I wouldn't advise it.(as (giới từ)=với tư cách là.)
*Similar /different :-k0 "to" nếu đứng 1 mình hoặc "+ to+N/Pr"(similar).
-k0"from " if standing alone or "+to+N/Pr"(different).
My book and yours are different.
My book is different from yours .
*The same as /The same ...as:
The same +noun+as...
Ann's salary is the same as mine=Ann gets the same salary as me .(Lương của Ann bằng lương của tôi).
He is the same age as my wife.
*Alike (adj):-nghĩa là "giống như".

# As (preposition) = 'in the position of', 'in the form of' etc.:
We use 'as' to talk about a job or function.
We use like to talk about things being similar.
We say regard ... as:
* I regard her as my best friend.
#I have some good examples for you to distinguish them:
1.Everyone is ill at home. Our house is like a hospital. (it isn't really a hospital)
During the war this hotel was used as a hospital. (so it really was a hospital)
2.Mary Stone is the assistant manager. Like the manager (Brenda Casey), she also has to make important decisions. ('Like the manager' = similar to the manager)
Brenda Casey is the manager of a company. As the manager, she has to make many important decisions.('As the manager' = in her position as the manager)
3.London is all right as a place to visit, but I wouldn't like to live there.
4. She works as a fashion model. (= She is a model.)
She dresses like a fashion model.(= Her clothes are similar to a model's.)
5.As a beginner you simply have to learn the basics.
Mark is a good golfer, but today he played like a beginner.
6. I'm using this tin as an ashtray.
7.As+preposition phrase.
We use as before an expression beginning with preposition. In informal english ,' like ' is often used instead of 'as'.This is very common in American english.
In 1939,as in 1914 ,everybody wanted war.
On Friday,as on Tuesday, the meeting will be at 8.30.
